Design Progress

Level of Design Submission to the MBLC

Please note: These documents make up the Level of Design submitted to the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) and are preliminary in nature. They are intended to test how the building functions: how spaces relate to one another, whether program areas are appropriately sized, and where adjustments may be needed.

At this stage, the design is expected to evolve. The plans will continue to be refined as feedback is received through Building Committee discussions, public input, and ongoing coordination with the MBLC.

These drawings are not final construction documents. They establish direction, not details.

Reminder that these designs are PRELIMINARY! They are a tool to use in the preliminary design process to see how parts of the building fit together, what sizes they need to be to fit programming, what works and what does not work. These Designs are shared with the public with the understanding that these are updated often, especially after feedback during Building Committee Meetings.

Just remember, these are rough, not set in blueprints!
