Library Building Tours

As part of our outreach effort, the Bigelow Free Public Library has hosted a series of public tours—three in August and three in September—inviting residents inside to see the building up close. These guided visits gave community members the chance to explore the library’s current spaces, learn about the challenges and opportunities shaping the project, and ask questions directly to staff and project team members. The tours are building momentum and awareness ahead of the Community Informational Forum on September 16, where the design team will present options and gather feedback from the town.

On December 11, at 6pm, the Library will be hosting an Open House, Tours and Q&A. Register to ensure your voice is heard and to be part of the dynamic discussions that shape our community's future. Together, we can tackle challenges and create solutions that benefit us all!

Project Goals:

  • Expanded space & accessibility: Enhanced ADA-compliant facilities, flexible multipurpose rooms, and improved public gathering areas.

  • Enhanced collections & digital services: Accommodations for growing book, media, and digital resource collections, plus upgraded technology infrastructure.

  • Community-focused design: Thoughtfully redesigned to support children’s programming, teen study zones, and comfortable spaces for all age groups and abilities.

  • A sustainable future: Sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems blended with the library’s historic charm.

This project preserves our library’s legacy while ensuring it remains a dynamic center for education, collaboration, and inspiration for generations to come.
